Message:

Our life is very precious because it is a God given gift to all; in this issue we discuss how we should better appreciate this gift. In this issue we have a very nice article by H.H. Pope Tawadrous about the Life of contentment.

Message:

Repentance is a topic we would like to come back to every few issues. In this issue find out the five ways of repentance that St John Chrysostom prescribes.

If you have not already done so you can go and listen to the music from the talented young artists who submitted their music for Asaph Tunes Christian Music Competition. After you hear the songs you can vote for the best three songs and leave some of the contestants a message of encouragement.

Message:

This month we celebrate the Coptic New Year which is also called the year of Martyrs, and in light of the ongoing devastating news about persecuted Christians all over the world we present to you this month issue about this very topic. We also want to present to you two biographies of martyrs from the early church that we have emailed to you few years ago for your read.

  • St Dymiana and the 40 virgins, which is written and edited by the nuns of St Dymiana Convent in El Barary. We Thank them for providing us with the text to post for everyone to read.?Click Here
  • Sts Perpetua and Felicity, who were martyred in the beginning of the third century. The text is one of the ancient martyr text that was written by St Perpetua herself.?Click Here

Pimonakhos Issue 8 Volume 8

We wish you all a spiritual start to St Mary fast on Friday the 8th of August. As was announced by H.H. Pope Tawadrous II that the Coptic church will dedicate the St Mary fast as a time for prayer and fasting for all our brothers and sisters in the Middle East in these hard times.

On the 26th of August 2014, it will be the 19th Anniversary of the Establishment of our Monastery. On this joyous occasion we would like to invite you on Saturday the 14th of March for the placing of the foundation Stone and the unveiling of the Plaque for the new “Complex Project” to encourage the Congregation to support this Monastery Project.

Last but not least we would like to thank all who helped and joined us for this year

The Feast of our patron saint is just around the corner 14th of July. To celebrate this occasion we have made a video clip of one of the songs that was the winner of the 2012 Christian Music Competition. The Song is called “Pillar of Zeal” not you can watch the video clip here.

As we have done over the years this edition is dedicated to our Great St Shenouda the Archimandrite. There are also many group photos of the visitors during the last month.

Pimonakhos Volume 8 Issue 6.5

In the Month of May I have attended the joint priest conference for the diocese of Melbourne and the Diocese of Sydney which was hosted by Bishop Suriel in Melbourne. During the conference I was asked to give two lectures about Coptic Identity. This special edition of Pimonakhos has the script of the two lectures.

We would also like to bring to your attention our new service ASAPH TUNES which aims to channel the musical talents of some of our youth and to encourage them to produce contemporary music that teaches the Orthodox theology. Now we have a website that has more details about the different artists and their music. If you want to be kept up to date with the latest music from these artists you can?sign up to this emailing list.
